Bastoni investigated for alleged child prostitution in Milan

Italian defender Alessandro Bastoni, who plays for Internazionale and the Italy national team, is being investigated by the Milan public prosecutor’s office for alleged child prostitution, after accusations that he paid a 17‑year‑old girl for sex in June 2020 as part of a larger case.

The probe forms part of a broader investigation by the Milan public prosecutor’s office into an alleged escort network. Bastoni is scheduled to appear before the prosecutors on Friday.

Prosecutors allege that in June 2020 he paid for sexual services with a 17‑year‑old girl. Because the girl was under the age of majority at the time, the alleged act would be classified as child prostitution under Italian law.

Bastoni’s lawyer Salvatore Scuto said, “My client is very upset.” He added, “I can exclude that he ever had paid sexual relations, let alone with minors.”
