Brighton sign Nigerian winger Yohanna Zadok for £21.5m
Brighton have agreed to sign 18‑year‑old Nigerian winger Yohanna Zadok from AIK Stockholm for £21.5 million. The transfer will be completed when the summer window opens on Monday 15 June and includes a five‑year contract.
Zadok has recorded five goals and four assists in 18 senior appearances for AIK Stockholm since his debut in August 2025. The statistics underline his impact at senior level despite his age.
Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler said he is looking forward to working with Zadok and highlighted the player’s ability to influence games in the final third. Hurzeler added that the teenager will need time to adapt to the club and the Premier League.
Zadok’s pathway began at Ikon Allah Football Academy in Nigeria before moving to AIK Stockholm. Brighton’s scouting network tracked his development through that route.
The Seagulls’ £21.5 million investment reflects a strategy of allocating significant funds to young talent with high resale potential and tactical fit. The five‑year deal gives both club and player space to develop within the Premier League environment.
