Sporting CP to add one midfielder and winger this window

Rafael Soares states Sporting CP will sign at least one more midfielder and a winger before the transfer window closes.

The club’s recruitment is ongoing after securing João Neves from Benfica and adding Viktor Gyökeres on loan from Brighton.

Sporting CP’s sporting director Rafael Soares confirmed further arrivals in the January window.

The midfielder João Neves arrived for a reported €45 million, while Gyökeres joined until June 2025 with a €15 million loan fee.

Soares emphasized the club’s commitment to strengthening the squad before the deadline.

The director also highlighted the need for competition in key positions ahead of European fixtures.
