Netherlands face Algeria and Uzbekistan in World Cup prep
The Netherlands national team will play friendly matches against Algeria and Uzbekistan as its final preparation for the 2026 World Cup.
The tournament will be staged across Canada, Mexico and the United States.
The fixtures are part of Oranje's training programme in the weeks leading up to the competition.
Both Algeria and Uzbekistan have been confirmed as the opponents for the upcoming friendlies.
Former Dutch coach Dick Advocaat travelled with the Curaçao side to Aruba for a series of inter‑national matches.
Advocaat will oversee Curaçao's preparations ahead of the World Cup qualifiers.
Other leading nations are also arranging friendly games to sharpen their squads before the tournament.
The schedule of those matches remains under discussion among the respective federations.
Oranje will use the outcomes of the Algeria and Uzbekistan games to finalize its tactical setup.
The coaching staff expects the matches to provide the last opportunity to assess player form.
The final 26‑player roster for the Netherlands will be submitted to FIFA in early June.
The team will depart for North America shortly after the roster is confirmed.
