Barcelona Target Julián Álvarez as Lewandowski Replacement
FC Barcelona have identified Atlético de Madrid striker Julián Álvarez as their primary target to replace Robert Lewandowski. The 26‑year‑old forward is being pursued after Barcelona completed the signing of Anthony Gordon.
Deco, Barcelona’s sporting director, met yesterday with Álvarez’s agent Fernando Hidalgo at a hotel in Barcelona. The meeting also included Juanma López, who represents Joan García and Dani Olmo, and Andy Bara, a colleague from the same agency.

Anthony Gordon is scheduled to travel to Barcelona on Thursday for his medical examination. Gordon’s arrival marks the latest addition to Barcelona’s squad ahead of the upcoming transfer window. Lewandowski’s contract expires at the end of the season, after which he will depart the club. Barcelona’s focus on Álvarez suggests a plan to fill the striker role before the summer window closes.
