FC Groningen, Peersman talks continue amid contract talks
FC Groningen defender Marvin Peersman’s future remains under review as his June contract expiry approaches. Club director Frank van Mosselveld confirmed discussions are planned to secure an agreement with the 35-year-old defender.
Peersman, who has featured 127 times for FC Groningen since 2021, remains a first-team option. The club has yet to finalize terms but Van Mosselveld emphasized the intent to retain his services.
The 35-year-old defender joined FC Groningen from ADO Den Haag in 2021. His leadership and defensive consistency have been key during his tenure. No alternative signings have been announced to replace him.
Van Mosselveld stated the club values Peersman’s experience and leadership. A formal agreement is expected before the summer transfer window closes.
FC Groningen currently sits 12th in the Eredivisie after 25 matches. Peersman’s contract status could influence squad planning for the final third of the season.
Van Mosselveld will hold further talks with Peersman’s representatives in the coming weeks.
