Florentino Pérez Announces €150m Record Signing for Real Madrid

Florentino Pérez said on Thursday on the programme 'Horizonte' that Real Madrid will make the most expensive signing in the club’s history. The deal is set at €150 million for a player who currently plays for a Champions League team. Real Madrid will submit the offer on Tuesday.

Earlier, Enrique Riquelme told Antena 3’s programme 'El Hormiguero' that Erling Haaland would move to Real Madrid if he became club president on Sunday. Riquelme linked the potential transfer to the upcoming presidential election.

Pérez adopted a similar television format for his own announcement. Both announcements were delivered on popular Spanish talk shows.

Pérez did not name the targeted player. He only described the player as a Champions League participant.

The club aims to finalise the transfer before the summer window ends. The announcement comes ahead of the new season preparations.

The pledge raises expectations for a marquee acquisition before the upcoming season. Real Madrid’s intent signals continued ambition in the European market.
