Full-strength Oranje trains in Kansas City ahead of Morocco clash

🇳🇱
The Netherlands national team completed its final training session in Kansas City under scorching conditions with a fully fit squad of 26 players ahead of the round‑of‑16 World Cup clash against Morocco, scheduled for 03:00 CET on Tuesday in Monterrey, Mexico. Temperatures exceeded 30 °C as all 26 squad members took part in the session, including Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo. Gakpo’s partner revealed that the couple had previously lost an unborn child during pregnancy. In consultation with his partner, Gakpo decided to remain with the Dutch squad and prepare for the first knockout match. The forward continues his club duties with Liverpool while focusing on the national team. The training was opened to the press and spectators for fifteen minutes, but no notable incidents were observed. After a warm‑up, the players completed passing and agility drills. Following the session, Oranje will travel to Monterrey, Mexico, where they will meet Morocco, a side that recently impressed with a 1‑1 draw against Brazil. The round‑of‑16 encounter is set for the early hours of Tuesday. Later that night, coach Ronald Koeman and captain Virgil van Dijk will address the media at Monterrey Stadium ahead of the match. Their press conference will be conducted in Dutch. The game will be broadcast live on .nl, the app, NPO 1 television and NPO Radio 1. Blind and partially sighted viewers can follow an audio description on NPO 1 extra (channel 81) and NPO Start.
