Kruys confirms Volendam exit after mutual agreement

Rick Kruys confirmed his departure from FC Volendam following mutual agreement with club leadership and coaching staff after relegation. The midfielder described the decision as emotionally difficult for him.

Kruys stated he was 'broken' for three days after being informed of the club’s choice to part ways. The separation follows relegation from the Eerste Divisie last season.

Club leadership and head coach decided to end Kruys’ tenure in consultation with him. The decision aligns with restructuring plans following the team’s drop to the third tier.

Volendam finished 17th in the 2023–24 Eerste Divisie, confirming relegation. FC Volendam will compete in the Derde Divisie next season.
