West Ham beats Spurs on final day to relegate Tottenham
West Ham United defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at the London Stadium on the final day of the Premier League season.
The match lasted 45 minutes plus nine added minutes as referee Anthony Taylor played significant stoppage time. Declan Rice scored for West Ham in the 4th minute before Son Heung-min equalised in the 39th minute.
Tottenham needed a win to avoid relegation, but West Ham’s second goal came in the 90+3 minute through Jarrod Bowen, sealing their Premier League status.
Anthony Taylor issued three yellow cards during the game, two to West Ham players and one to Tottenham’s Cristian Romero.
West Ham finished 14th with 39 points, while Tottenham ended 18th with 33 points, confirming their relegation to the Championship.
Spurs join Leicester City and Leeds United in dropping out of the Premier League.
