Pierre Dwomoh to sign three-year deal with Konyaspor
Belgian midfielder Pierre Dwomoh, 21, is set to sign a three‑season contract with Turkish Süper Lig side Konyaspor later this month, pending medical tests. The free‑transfer move follows a season of limited action at Watford and a market value of roughly €700,000.
Dwomoh began his development at Antwerp, where he made an early professional debut. He later moved to the youth academy of Portuguese giants FC Porto before signing for English club Watford.
He has featured for Belgium’s youth national teams at several age groups. Those appearances reinforced his status as one of the most promising players of his generation.
The 2023‑24 season was disrupted by injuries and personal circumstances, leaving him with only a one‑minute cameo against West Bromwich Albion. Watford elected not to extend his contract, making him a free agent this summer.
Konyaspor had already pursued the midfielder in the summer of 2023, but Watford’s refusal to cooperate blocked the transfer. The Turkish side maintained interest despite the earlier setback.
Konyaspor, a Süper Lig club that finished ninth last season, is prepared to offer Dwomoh a three‑year contract lasting until the summer of 2029. The agreement will be completed after his medical and physical tests later this month.
Because he is available on a free transfer, Konyaspor sees a low‑cost opportunity; Transfermarkt values him at roughly €700,000, lower than previous estimates. Dwomoh spent the off‑season with a private coach after a thigh overload cancelled a planned training spell at Dutch side Heerenveen.
