PSG's midfield pursuit stalls as Premier League clubs join chase

🇫🇷

Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with a summer move for Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, but the French club now faces stiff competition from the Premier League. Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reported that the chase for the 19‑year‑old includes at least four clubs, with Manchester City already holding initial talks.

PSG’s interest in Bouaddi stems from their tradition of securing promising French talents to bolster their midfield options. However, the Parisians are reportedly prioritising the acquisition of defender Yan Diomande this window.

Manchester City’s strategy would involve purchasing Bouaddi and immediately loaning him back to Lille until the start of the next season. The loan arrangement could prove attractive to the teenager, whose personal preference will heavily influence the final outcome. Romano’s update underscores the uncertainty surrounding the Bouaddi deal as negotiations progress.

Should the deal fall through, Paris Saint-Germain risk missing out on their primary midfield target as the World Cup break concludes. In parallel, the club is reportedly close to finalising a loan deal with an option to buy for forward Randal Kolo Muani.

Additionally, Bradley Barcola may yet sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain despite external interest in other attackers. These developments suggest that PSG’s transfer agenda will remain fluid, with the outcomes for Bouaddi and the other players shaping their squad composition for the upcoming season. The market is set to shift rapidly once the World Cup concludes, potentially altering the options for both Paris Saint-Germain and the interested clubs.
