PSV director lauds Saibari as model as he departs for Bayern
PSV director Earnest Stewart said farewell to attacking midfielder Ismael Saibari on Wednesday, as Bayern Munich announced the player's transfer and a contract running to mid‑2031 in the German capital. The move marks the end of Saibari’s rise through PSV’s academy to the first team.
Bayern Munich and PSV confirmed the transfer on Wednesday, with Saibari signing a deal that extends to the middle of 2031. The agreement was presented as a joint statement by both clubs.
He highlighted the combination of talent, character and work ethic that defined the midfielder’s development.
Stewart noted that Saibari’s impact on PSV’s recent successes has been immense. He also emphasized the player’s personal growth off the pitch as equally remarkable.
According to Stewart, saying goodbye to a player who became pivotal for PSV is never easy, but the move aligns with Saibari’s ambitions and the pathway the club mapped together. He described the decision as a natural progression for the young talent.
Stewart expressed pride that PSV continues to produce talent capable of reaching the absolute world top, noting the club’s ability to deliver a player to a leading European side. He wished Saibari the best in the next phase of his career.
Saibari is currently representing Morocco at the World Cup, and will join Bayern Munich after the tournament concludes. His departure comes as the Moroccan squad competes in the global competition.
