Sparta Rotterdam signs Casper Terho on permanent deal
Sparta Rotterdam exercised the purchase option on Finland international Casper Terho. The 23-year-old midfielder signed a four-year contract at Het Kasteel.
Terho joined Sparta on loan from HJK Helsinki in January 2023. He made 42 appearances and scored 12 goals during his initial spell. The club confirmed the permanent transfer via official channels.
The Finnish midfielder has been a key figure in Sparta’s midfield since his arrival. His contract ties him to Rotterdam until June 2027. Sparta’s sporting director Jeffrey van As will oversee his integration into the first team.
Terho’s permanent move reinforces Sparta’s ambitions in the Eredivisie. The club aims to build a competitive squad under head coach Maurice Steijn. Steijn has previously managed ADO Den Haag and VVV-Venlo.
