Andy Dallas signs two-year contract with Walsall as free agent

🇬🇧 1 uur geleden

Forward Andy Dallas, 26, has joined Walsall on a two-year deal after leaving Barnsley as a free agent. The move was confirmed by the club on their website, marking the striker's first contract of the season.

Andy Dallas made just five appearances for Barnsley before his contract expired. He had originally joined the Tykes in 2023 on a free transfer from Solihull Moors.

During his time at Barnsley, Dallas experienced loan spells at Kilmarnock, Oldham Athletic, Barrow and Morecambe. Each loan provided him with additional senior football experience across different leagues.

Dallas spent the previous season with Southend United, where he scored 17 goals for the National League Shrimpers. His contributions helped the club reach the play‑off eliminators and win the FA Trophy at Wembley after a penalty shoot‑out against Wealdstone.

"From my initial conversations with the manager, selling me the project and what he wants from me, I just felt that I could come and be a part of it which I'm looking forward to doing," Dallas told the club website. He added that he likes to get in behind, link up play and, as any striker does, score goals.

Andy Dallas is new Walsall boss Lee Grant's first signing. Grant highlighted the striker's ability to fit the club's ambitions and praised his goal‑scoring record.
