Bernardo Silva says Barcelona remains an option
Bernardo Silva, the Portuguese international, confirmed that Barcelona is among the options he is considering as he approaches free agency after his contract with Manchester City expires. Silva will become a free agent after running down his Manchester City deal. His status makes him one of the most sought‑after players on the market.
Links have emerged with several clubs, but La Liga sides Barcelona and Atletico Madrid appear the most likely destinations. Silva has been linked with a number of clubs. He said he wants to join a team where he feels truly wanted.
Silva told a Portuguese newspaper, “Barça? It’s an option I have, but I haven’t made a decision yet.” He added, “The truth is I have many options, and I’m not going to talk about a specific club if I haven’t made a decision and haven’t signed with that club.” Silva will be in action for Portugal at the upcoming World Cup.
Barcelona would need the approval of Hansi Flick, who is wary of over‑stacking the squad. The club also must sanction the sale of a few fringe players to free up space for Silva. These factors could push any agreement into July.
