Diogo Boa Alma Leaves AFS Directorship After Relegation
Diogo Boa Alma stepped down as Director General of Football at AFS on Wednesday. The club confirmed its relegation to Portugal's second tier this season.
Boa Alma previously held roles at Vitória FC, Santa Clara, Vitória SC and Casa Pia. He assumed his AFS duties in late October.
In his farewell note he thanked the structure, technical staff, players, staff and supporters. He noted the players' conduct despite the confirmed drop a few rounds before season end.
He highlighted a six‑match unbeaten run that included points taken from Sporting and FC Porto. He called the second half the club's best ever and said assets were increased.
Boa Alma said he leaves with pride in what was built. He expressed confidence that AFS will soon return to the top tier.
