Adi Hütter returns as Eintracht Frankfurt manager
Five years after leaving Eintracht Frankfurt, Adi Hütter is set to return as head coach. The Austrian, who previously managed the club from 2018 to 2019, will replace Dino Toppmöller.
Hütter’s initial spell at Frankfurt included a seventh-place finish in the 2018–19 Bundesliga. He left by mutual consent in May 2019 after guiding the team to the Europa League.
Toppmöller’s departure follows Frankfurt’s sixth-place finish last season, missing out on European competition. The club confirmed the decision on Monday.
Frankfurt also announced the appointment of Oliver Glasner as sporting director. Glasner, who previously led VfL Wolfsburg and Crystal Palace, will oversee football operations.
Hütter will officially take charge ahead of Frankfurt’s pre-season preparations. His first match in charge could come in the Europa Conference League.
The club stated both appointments aim to strengthen the squad for the upcoming campaign.
