Barcelona Mulls Araújo-Bastoni Swap to Reduce Cost
FC Barcelona cannot meet Inter Milan's €70 million asking price for defender Alessandro Bastoni. The club is therefore looking at alternative ways to strengthen its back line.
Barcelona is studying a possible player exchange that would involve Ronald Araújo. The idea is to incorporate Araújo into the deal to reduce the cash component.
Including Araújo is intended to lower the overall cost of acquiring Bastoni. Both clubs would benefit from a swap that eases the financial burden on Barcelona.
The proposed arrangement would allow Barcelona to reinforce its defence without exceeding its budget. Araújo, a central defender, could replace or complement Bastoni in the defensive line.
Inter Milan's valuation of Bastoni remains set at €70 million. That figure exceeds Barcelona's current spending limits for a single defensive signing.
Negotiations are still in an exploratory phase and no agreement has been reached. Both parties are assessing whether the swap can satisfy their respective sporting and financial objectives.
