Girona FC targets Carles Martínez with 2+1 year offer
Girona FC is close to signing Carles Martínez as head coach. The club has proposed a two‑plus‑one‑year contract with a salary exceeding offers from Rayo Vallecano and Osasuna.
Girona believes Martínez’s approach can accelerate a return to LaLiga. The appointment was selected by sporting director Quique Cárcel.
Martínez gained prominence as the young coach who led Toulouse FC to notable success. His reputation stems from his recent performances in French football.
The contract includes an initial two‑year term with an optional third year. Girona’s financial package is described as the most lucrative among the interested clubs.
Girona currently competes in Spain’s Segunda División. The club aims to secure promotion to the Primera División this season.
Should the agreement be finalized, Martínez will take charge at the Montilivi stadium. Girona expects his leadership to drive the promotion push.
