Evan Ferguson Returns to Brighton After Injured Roma Loan
Evan Ferguson posted a farewell to AS Roma on Instagram, confirming his return to Brighton after a loan season marred by injuries.
In the caption Ferguson wrote that no one wants their time cut short, injuries are part of the game, thanked the Roma staff and fans, wished them all the best and signed off with “Forza Roma”.
He arrived from Brighton last summer, but ankle problems sidelined him first in early November, causing him to miss matches against Milan and Udinese; a brief comeback ended with a setback against Torino, and a substitute appearance versus Milan was followed by fresh ankle trouble that ended his season.
Across Serie A, Coppa Italia and the Europa League he logged 22 appearances, 1,078 minutes, five goals (three in the league, two in Europe) and two assists; Roma chose not to trigger the reported €40 million purchase option, so Ferguson returns to the Amex Stadium with a point to prove.
