Inter Director Confirms Dumfries to Real Madrid, Jones Target
Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio confirmed that wing‑back Denzel Dumfries will join Real Madrid. Ausilio added that Inter are monitoring Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones and Udinese centre‑back Oumar Solet. He also stated that Inter have no intention of letting Hakan Calhanoglu move to Fenerbahçe.
Ausilio explained that Dumfries’ release clause was triggered by Real Madrid and that the player expressed a desire to leave. He acknowledged fan disappointment but wished Dumfries success at his new club.
A photo by Justin Setterfield captured Curtis Jones under pressure from Nicolo Barella during a recent Champions League encounter. Ausilio said the interest in Jones dates back to January and that Inter will negotiate again if a common ground can be found.
Regarding the defence, Ausilio said Inter must act because the contracts of Darmian and Acerbi are expiring. He identified Oumar Solet as a priority defender and noted that other options are also being evaluated.
Alex Bierens de Haan photographed Aleksandar Stankovic celebrating a goal for Club Brugge. Ausilio confirmed Stankovic will audition with Cristian Chivu in pre‑season alongside Massolin.
Marco Luzzani captured Hakan Calhanoglu with the Serie A and Coppa Italia trophies after the domestic double. Ausilio mocked the idea of a Besiktas move, emphasizing that Calhanoglu’s contract remains with Inter.
Ausilio concluded that Inter aim to secure a solid defender for the start of the season while retaining key midfield talent. He indicated that the club will continue its transfer activity throughout the summer window.
