LFP reports slight attendance rise and record fill rate
The Ligue de football professionnel (LFP) announced on Tuesday 26 May that attendance in the 2025‑2026 season was slightly higher than in 2024‑2025. During that campaign, 40 % of Ligue 1 matches were played behind closed doors.
The season also produced a record attendance fill rate across Ligue 1. That fill rate exceeded the previous season’s benchmark.
The slight rise contrasts with the previous season’s lower numbers. Overall spectator metrics improved marginally.
The record fill rate underscores the growing interest in Ligue 1 matches. The league’s modest attendance gain marks a positive trend for French football.
