Serie A final day stalls as Milan-Chievo delayed again
Serie A’s 38th and final matchday of the 2025/26 season remains unsettled after AC Milan’s delayed opener against Chievo Verona was postponed for the third time. Kickoff in Turin for Juventus versus Lecce was also called off hours before first whistle.
The postponements leave AC Milan top with 82 points, one ahead of AS Roma in the Champions League race. Both clubs have completed their fixtures but await confirmation of opponents for the knockout stages.
Juventus, chasing a record 37th title, sit third on 79 points with a game in hand against Lecce. The Bianconeri need a win to secure second place and avoid a potential Champions League qualifier playoff.
At the bottom, US Lecce and Cremonese are locked in a relegation battle with 34 points each. Lecce’s home fixture against Juventus was postponed, while Cremonese’s match at home to Monza was canceled after local police raised safety concerns.
Serie A has not yet confirmed revised kickoff times for Milan’s and Juventus’s postponed matches. Referees’ union representatives met with league officials in Milan to discuss contingency plans for the final day.
Fans in Turin and Milan face another wait to see if either club can secure Champions League qualification or avoid relegation before the season officially concludes.
