Liverpool's Luca Stephenson Targeted by Bolton and Blackburn
Andoni Iraola has taken charge of Liverpool, with Richard Hughes on the coaching staff. Liverpool finished fifth in the Premier League last season.
Luca Stephenson, 22, is being linked with Championship clubs Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers. The midfielder spent the previous two seasons on loan at Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership. He earned Dundee United's young player of the year award during that spell.
Liverpool must reshape the squad to chase silverware, according to the new management. Iraola and Hughes are expected to decide which players will stay or depart.
Under previous manager Slot, Liverpool supporters felt young players received limited chances. Injuries to Conor Bradley, Joe Gomez and Jeremie Frimpong left the right‑back position unsettled. Instead of promoting Calvin Ramsay, Iraola deployed Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai in that role.
Pre‑season friendlies will give Iraola a chance to assess his youth options. Stephenson could remain at Anfield if the manager opts to involve more academy players.
