Toluca beats Tigres on penalties to win CONCACAF Champions Cup
Toluca, coached by Antonio Mohamed, won the CONCACAF Champions Cup on Saturday. The final was decided by a 6‑5 penalty shootout over Tigres at the Nemesio Díez stadium.
The match remained goalless after 90 minutes. Jorge Díaz gave Toluca a 1‑0 lead in the 104th minute, before Brazilian Joaquim equalised in the 114th minute.
Regulation and extra time ended 1‑1. Toluca converted six spot‑kicks as Tigres missed one, sealing the win.
The victory marks Toluca's third CONCACAF Champions Cup title. It adds to the club's growing regional pedigree.
