Kobbie Mainoo Credits World Cup Dream Amid United Turnaround
Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo said he kept his World Cup dream alive despite limited minutes under former head coach Ruben Amorim. He emphasized that ambition while coping with reduced playing time.
Under Amorim, Mainoo was not among the favored options and did not start a Premier League match. His first start came only after Michael Carrick assumed interim charge in January.
Mainoo was available for 16 Premier League matches after Carrick took over. He started all of those matches.
He played the full 90 minutes in 15 of the starts. United ended the season in third place in the Premier League.
