Martín Demichelis takes RB Leipzig helm, exits Mallorca

RB Leipzig have confirmed Martín Demichelis as their new head coach, ending his brief spell as Mallorca manager as the Spanish club announced his departure. The German side highlighted his experience across Europe, South America and North America as a key factor in the appointment.

Marcel Schäfer, sporting director of RB Leipzig, praised Demichelis' diverse experience. He said, “With Martín Demichelis, we are gaining a head coach who has built up experience in Europe, South America, and North America as both a player and a coach, and who has worked at the highest level.” Schäfer added that the international perspective is an excellent fit for RB Leipzig and its global direction.

Demichelis said he was impressed by the talks with those in charge and the sporting vision.
