Massimiliano Allegri to coach Napoli, €10m fee agreed
Napoli will announce Massimiliano Allegri as their new head coach next week, with president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirming the appointment and a €10 million termination fee to be paid to AC Milan. The three‑year contract replaces an earlier two‑year option and follows the resolution of Milan’s internal corporate issues that had delayed the deal.
Ciro Venerato of RAI, cited by Calcio Napoli 24, reported that Allegri will be officially named by De Laurentiis next week. The announcement is expected to come from the club’s official channels.
AC Milan are finalising the deal with Napoli over parting ways with Allegri, who remains under contract with the Rossoneri. The clubs are negotiating the terms required to release the coach from his existing agreement.
'Toekomst van Lang bij Napoli onzeker: Allegri moet beslissen, verhuur lonkt'
Napoli are prepared to pay around €10 million to Milan for termination costs and manager signing requirements. This fee reflects the compensation needed to end Allegri’s contract with the Italian champions. The transfer was delayed by internal problems within Milan’s corporate structure, but those issues have now been cleared. The resolution enables the manager’s move to the Naples‑based side. Allegri, a six‑time Serie A‑winning coach, will sign a three‑year deal with Napoli. The original option of a two‑year contract with a provision for a third year was transformed into the current three‑year agreement.
