Real Madrid set €10 million price for left‑back Fran Garcia
Real Madrid have set a €10 million price tag for left‑back Fran Garcia, whom they deem surplus after securing Marc Cucurella. Manager Jose Mourinho prefers Alvaro Carreras, while Ferland Mendy remains sidelined with injury until November, and Garcia has featured in just 23 games this season.
Real Betis have identified Garcia as a priority target to bolster their left‑back line for the 2026/27 campaign. Manager Manuel Pellegrini’s side have opened talks with the Spanish giants to discuss a potential €10 million transfer, while also needing to meet the player’s higher salary expectations.
Garcia competes with Kaiki Bruno for the same position in Seville. Despite the financial gap, Betis remain optimistic that a deal can be reached.
Garcia progressed through Real Madrid’s youth system before moving to Rayo Vallecano in the summer of 2020. Three years later the club re‑signed him by activating a buyback clause, but he has struggled to become a regular under Carlo Ancelotti, Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa.
In three years since his return, Garcia has amassed 109 appearances, scoring three goals and providing 13 assists. This past season he featured in 23 matches across all competitions.
With only one year remaining on his contract, a €10 million fee would represent solid business for Real Madrid. The club’s recent acquisition of Marc Cucurella further diminishes Garcia’s prospects of regular playing time.
