Germany's Wück avoids World Cup talk before Norway clash
Two World Cup qualification matches are scheduled for the German women's national team in June. A win over Norway could already clinch a place at the 2017 World Cup in Brazil. Coach Christian Wück said he will not contemplate that outcome yet.
The DFB-Elf's June program consists of two fixtures. Both games are part of the UEFA qualification round for the 2017 tournament. The Norway encounter is the first of the two.
Qualification rules state that a victory against Norway guarantees Germany a World Cup berth. The second June match will remain relevant only if the Norway result does not secure qualification.
Wück described himself as "superstitious" and prefers to keep his focus on the immediate matches. He avoided discussing potential qualification scenarios in public statements.
The German Football Association has not announced the final squad for the June games. No tactical details have been released by the coaching staff.
Germany will look to collect the necessary points in June to confirm their World Cup participation. The outcome against Norway will be a key indicator of their path to Brazil.
