Aggie Beever-Jones to sign new Chelsea deal after injury

England striker Aggie Beever-Jones, 22, is set to sign a new contract with Chelsea this summer after her existing deal expired, with the club confirming she exercised a one‑year extension option following an injury‑hit season in which she scored four goals in 11 Women's Super League starts.

Beever-Jones graduated from Chelsea's academy. She has become a regular scorer in the Women's Super League and earned caps for England.

After contributing to England's Euro 2025 triumph, she suffered injury setbacks. Those limited her to four goals across 11 league starts last season.

The previous campaign she stepped in for the injured Sam Kerr. Beever-Jones recorded nine goals in 22 appearances as Chelsea secured a domestic treble.

With Sam Kerr departing, and Chelsea's attempt to sign Manchester City striker Khadija Shaw collapsing, the club anticipates a larger role for Beever-Jones in the 2026‑27 season. The expectation reflects her growing importance after the recent contract renewal.

She capped the season by starring in the Women's World Sevens London series. Beever-Jones scored the late winner in the final as Chelsea defeated Manchester United.

New episodes of the Women's Football Weekly podcast, featuring interviews and extra content from the Women's Super League, are released every Tuesday on BBC Sounds. Listeners can follow further updates on Beever-Jones and other WSL news through the feed.
