Chelsea set £75m price on Malo Gusto amid City interest

Chelsea have placed a £75 million price tag on French right‑back Malo Gusto as interest in the 23‑year‑old continues to grow. The club’s determination to retain the defender is evident despite an inconsistent 2025/26 campaign, and sources close to the player say he would be open to a reunion with Enzo Maresca, who is expected to replace Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium. Several other European clubs are also monitoring Gusto’s situation. The Blues are not looking to cash in on the defender unless an extraordinary offer arrives.

Chelsea have set a £75 million asking price for Gusto, indicating they are prepared to keep him unless a record offer emerges. Talks of Gusto leaving have emerged after Chelsea’s move for Atalanta full‑back Marco Palestra. The Blues have hijacked Inter Milan’s pursuit of the versatile 21‑year‑old, and Palestra is expected to become Xabi Alonso’s first signing since taking charge.

Marco Palestra, capable of playing as both a full‑back and wing‑back, will provide Chelsea with additional depth and tactical flexibility on either flank. His arrival raises questions over Gusto’s long‑term role at the club. Chelsea are also demanding £120 million for Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez, with Real Madrid pushing to sign him, while they have decided not to pursue Mateus Fernandes and José Mourinho is keen on Fernandez.

Chelsea have received a bid for centre‑back Trevoh Chalobah from Como; the 26‑year‑old has two years left on his contract and his summer departure remains uncertain. The west London club are also interested in Como defender Jacobo Ramon.
