Everton Target Loïs Openda Amid Juventus Transfer Push

Everton are reported as a primary contender to meet the €42.75 million price for Belgian striker Loïs Openda, whose loan to Juventus turned permanent in April 2025. Malù Mpasinkatu said the club’s new commercial revenue from Bramley‑Moore Dock stadium gives them the financial muscle to pursue the transfer. Openda scored one goal in 24 Serie A matches for Juventus and made two goals in 37 appearances across all competitions, playing just 20 % of league minutes. He previously netted 23 Bundesliga goals in the 2023‑24 season with RB Leipzig. Coventry City have already made direct contact, and the Sky Blues are also in contention for Openda’s signature. Sport Witness reported the club’s interest. Malù Mpasinkatu noted that top‑flight TV money allows even newly promoted sides to spend €40 million on a single player. This financial capacity turns the transfer chase into a Premier League scramble. Everton need a proven goalscorer to climb out of the bottom half of the Premier League, and Openda’s explosive pace suits the English game. Goodison Park offers a lifeline for the striker. Juventus want to remove Openda from their books, accepting a financial hit to do so. The club’s desire to offload him is driven by his under‑performance in Italy. A move to England would give Openda a fresh start away from Serie A’s tactical constraints. The market is there, pending negotiations.
