Jose Mourinho targets Ruben Dias for Real Madrid
Jose Mourinho has opened talks with Manchester City centre-back Ruben Dias about a possible move to Real Madrid. The 29‑year‑old is currently under contract with Manchester City until 2029.
Mourinho is pushing for new defensive signings at Real Madrid and has already placed pressure on players such as Fran Garcia, Alvaro Carreras, Trent Alexander‑Arnold and Franco Mastantuono. Ben Fernandes Santos reported that the manager wants to reshape the back line next season.
Dias is valued at around €55 million and his deal with Manchester City runs until 2029. Last season he started 24 league games, kept 11 clean sheets and averaged over nine defensive actions and close to three recoveries per match.
Dias is represented by Portuguese super‑agent Jorge Mendes, whose relationship with Mourinho has improved since the manager’s appointment at Real Madrid. Mendes also handles Mateus Fernandes and Matheus Nunes, both of whom have been linked to Real Madrid.
Florentino Perez has given Mourinho full control over all transfers at Real Madrid, meaning the Portuguese defender is now a priority target for the club.
