Krisztian Hegyi leaves West Ham for Sparta Prague on permanent deal

Goalkeeper Krisztian Hegyi has completed a permanent transfer from West Ham United to Sparta Prague. The 23‑year‑old Hungarian leaves after seven years without a first‑team appearance.

During his seven‑year spell at the Hammers, Hegyi featured more than 90 times for the academy sides. He was named in the matchday squad seven times as West Ham secured the UEFA Conference League title in 2023.

In the Premier League, Hegyi was an unused substitute on three occasions. Despite these inclusions, he never made a senior appearance for West Ham United.

His senior experience came through loan spells at Stevenage, Motherwell, Dutch club Den Bosch, and Hungarian sides Debrecen and MTK Budapest. These temporary moves provided him with regular playing time across England, Scotland, the Netherlands and Hungary.

Hegyi has represented Hungary at various age‑group levels. His development through the national youth system coincided with his club career.

The permanent move to Sparta Prague marks the next chapter of Hegyi's professional career. Sparta Prague will add Hegyi to their goalkeeper roster.
