Oliver Glasner pushes for Jean-Philippe Mateta signing at Milan
Serie A side Milan are close to appointing Oliver Glasner as their new manager, and Glasner has said he wants to sign striker Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Daniele Longo reported Glasner is very likely to become Milan’s next manager, noting only a major twist could prevent the appointment.
In a conversation yesterday, Glasner expressed the need to bring in Mateta from Crystal Palace, recalling their impressive spell together that ended with Crystal Palace winning the Conference League.
A knee problem halted a winter move to Milan, but Glasner’s involvement could revive the deal; Crystal Palace’s demand stands at €30 million, with a discount considered possible.
Mateta’s contract runs until 2027, making him a financially viable option for Milan, which needs a striker and wants to back Glasner’s project.
