Pedro Porro set for new long-term Tottenham deal

Pedro Porro is nearing a new long-term contract with Tottenham Hotspur. The Spain international has reached the final stages of negotiations with the Premier League club. Porro’s current deal runs until 2028, but discussions over an extension have progressed positively in recent weeks. The proposed agreement would extend his stay until 2031 with an additional 12-month option. The new contract would place Porro among Tottenham’s highest earners. The club aims to secure one of their key performers for the long term. Since joining Spurs on loan from Sporting CP in January 2023, Porro has become a regular starter. He has featured under Ange Postecoglou, Thomas Frank, Igor Tudor and Roberto De Zerbi. His consistency and attacking quality have kept him in the first team. Porro played a key role in Tottenham’s 2025 Europa League triumph. He started the final victory over Manchester United as Spurs ended a 41-year wait for continental silverware. The defender is currently with Spain at the World Cup under Luis de la Fuente. His strong performances at club and international level have strengthened Tottenham’s push for a new deal. Porro created more chances than any other Tottenham player in the Premier League last season. His ability to provide width, crosses and creativity has made him vital in the final third. While his defensive work has faced scrutiny, the club believes he has improved significantly. Tottenham have already secured futures of Djed Spence, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ben Davies and Cristian Romero in the past year. Porro appears set to join them. The club continues to build a squad under De Zerbi capable of competing for major honours. Securing Porro to a long-term contract would be another key step. An official announcement is expected once details are finalized.
