Quilindschy Hartman set for move from Burnley to Espanyol
Quilindschy Hartman, the 24‑year‑old Dutch left‑back, is set to leave Burnley for RCD Espanyol this summer after Burnley’s relegation. Espanyol have already secured the paperwork and are in the final stage of talks with Burnley, who managed to stay in La Liga, have shown concrete interest in signing the five‑time Netherlands international. The Spanish club is working towards a short‑term agreement to bring Hartman to Barcelona’s stadium.
Both Espanyol and Burnley are owned by the American businessman Alan Pace, linking the two clubs financially. This shared ownership is cited as a factor facilitating the ongoing negotiations.
A year ago Hartman transferred from Feyenoord to Burnley for a fee reported between nine and ten million euros. The move marked his first experience in English football after a successful spell in the Dutch Eredivisie.
During his season with Burnley, Hartman featured in most matches despite the team’s struggle to avoid relegation. The relegation ultimately could not be prevented, prompting the player to seek a new club.
In the winter transfer window Hartman terminated a loan arrangement with Ajax, ending his brief return to the Netherlands. The cancellation cleared the way for his potential move to Spain.
