Real Madrid submit official offer to Bernardo Silva

Real Madrid have sent an official proposal to Bernardo Silva, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano. The club is in advanced negotiations to sign the 31‑year‑old midfielder as a free agent. Silva left Manchester City after nine seasons, departing as a free agent. He previously named Barcelona as one option but said no final decision had been made, insisting he will choose a club that “really love[s] me” after the FIFA World Cup. Barcelona had reached an agreement in principle to sign Silva earlier this year and were considered the frontrunners for his signature ahead of the 2026‑27 season. Real Madrid’s proposal now challenges that position, while Juventus and Galatasaray have also shown interest, with the Turkish club offering a financially superior three‑year deal that Silva has not pursued. Silva’s agent Jorge Mendes confirmed the player will decide his future after the World Cup, where Portugal are currently competing in North America. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has been active in the free‑agent market, and new head coach Jose Mourinho, a fellow Portuguese and long‑time admirer of Silva, has begun reshaping the squad. A final decision is expected once Portugal’s World Cup campaign concludes, with Silva indicating his chosen club will be known before any public announcement.
