AC Milan's new CEO Calvelli arrives amid Pulisic transfer interest

AC Milan have appointed Massimo Calvelli as CEO, citing a need to "bring a winning culture" to the club. The move comes one day after reports emerged of a rejected approach from New York City FC for United States forward Christian Pulisic.

Calvelli’s appointment follows months of speculation over the club’s leadership direction. The new CEO will oversee operational and strategic decisions as Milan look to regain competitiveness in Serie A.

reported that New York City FC had approached AC Milan regarding Pulisic’s availability. The American attacker remains under contract with the MLS side, whose approach was declined by Milan’s hierarchy.

Pulisic has featured regularly for New York City FC this season, contributing to their push for a top-four finish in the Eastern Conference. His contract status in MLS means any transfer would require negotiation with the club rather than the player.

Milan’s recent performances have placed pressure on the board to deliver improvements both on and off the pitch. Calvelli’s role is expected to include restructuring the club’s football operations under new sporting director Thiago Motta.
