AC Milan to Face Celtic in Glasgow Friendly

AC Milan will meet Celtic at Celtic Park in Glasgow on Saturday 25 July in an international friendly. The match forms part of the men's first‑team preparations for the 2026/27 season before the squad heads to a pre‑season tour of Australia and Indonesia. Historically, AC Milan's Scottish friendlies have favoured Rangers rather than Celtic. The two clubs have only met in official competition during the Champions League campaigns of 2004/05, 2007/08 and 2013/14. In July 2002, Rangers hosted AC Milan at Ibrox Stadium for a 2‑2 draw in front of 40,411 spectators. The game marked the Rangers debut of a young Spanish midfielder Mikel Arteta, now manager of Arsenal, and saw Rangers take a 2‑0 lead through goals from De Boer and Caniggia. AC Milan equalised via Jon Dahl Tomasson before Marco Borriello struck in the 80th minute, while former Rangers star Gennaro Gattuso also featured. A second Ibrox encounter in February 2009 also ended 2‑2, providing an opportunity to integrate Thiago Silva ahead of his eligibility for official competition. AC Milan opened the scoring through Pato, with Kaká adding a second before Rangers fought back to secure the draw. The match reinforced the pattern of closely contested Scottish friendlies. The upcoming fixture at Celtic Park represents the next stop in AC Milan's pre‑season itinerary. The club's new 2026/27 home kit is now available for purchase.
