AC Milan women's under-15s complete back-to-back scudetti in Milano Marittima

🇮🇹

AC Milan’s Women’s Under-15 team secured their second consecutive Scudetto with a 2-0 victory over Roma in the 2025/26 final held in Milano Marittima. The win marks the club’s third title in the category, following previous triumphs in 2022/23 and last season’s campaign against Juventus.

The Rossonere’s triumph was sealed by goals from Ludovica Melgrati in the 15th minute and Irene Quaglia in the 60th, both strikes coming from outside the box. Melgrati’s free-kick from over 30 metres gave AC Milan the lead, while Quaglia’s right-footed strike into the top corner doubled the advantage in the second half.

AC Milan’s starting XI featured seven players born in 2012 and five born in 2013, with three of the younger players included in the matchday squad. Despite fielding a team with multiple players competing above their age group, the side delivered a performance described as full of personality and determination.

Roberto Bottiglieri’s squad dominated the opening period, creating early chances from corners. Marinari and Campanella both forced saves from Roma goalkeeper Brugi within the first 11 minutes, but the breakthrough came from Melgrati’s long-range free-kick.

The second third saw a slower tempo, though Campanella nearly doubled the lead after a rebound struck the post in the 27th minute. Substitutions from both coaches failed to change the scoreline before the final third, where AC Milan’s pressure was rewarded by Quaglia’s goal.

Roma, coached by Alboni, struggled to contain AC Milan’s attacking intent, with their best chance coming from a booked player, Martinelli, in the 45th minute. The Giallorosse made multiple substitutions but could not find a way past Richiedei in goal.

The referee for the final was Lelli from Cesena, who issued a single booking to Roma’s Martinelli. AC Milan’s matchday squad included 21 players, with substitutions made by Bottiglieri at the 42nd, 44th, 48th, 51st, 71st, 72nd, and 75th minutes.

Roma’s lineup featured 16 players, with six substitutions made by Alboni during the match. The Giallorosse’s starting XI included Brugi in goal and Bizzarri, Colasuonno, Zanchini, Omokha, Magrini, Cacace, Colavolpe, Cortese, Capogrossi, and Kepinska in the field.

AC Milan’s victory cements their reputation as a dominant force in youth football, with their Women’s Primavera and Men’s Under-15 sides also winning titles this season. The club’s youth development continues to produce standout talent ahead of the 2025/26 season’s conclusion.
