ADO Den Haag captain eyes Spanish move as Castellón express interest
Captain Jari Vlak of ADO Den Haag is reportedly on the verge of a move to Spanish club CD Castellón, with the Dutch side receiving a formal enquiry as the 27‑year‑old midfielder has expressed a personal desire to transfer this summer.
ADO began pre‑season intending to keep the squad intact. Interest has now emerged for several players, with Vlak among the most prominently mentioned.
Vlak can extend his expiring contract but has paused negotiations because of the Spanish interest. His decision now hinges on the likelihood of a transfer.
CD Castellón have formally approached ADO. Vlak has indicated internally that he would welcome a move.
Personal terms for the midfielder are reported as not being an obstacle. The remaining hurdle is ADO’s stance on allowing the transfer.
Losing Vlak would deprive ADO of its captain and a key midfield presence. The club may need to reshape its lineup for the upcoming season.
Union Sint‑Gillis are also targeting defender Milan Hokke, having already submitted three bids. Hokke’s openness to a move adds further pressure on ADO’s transfer negotiations.
The simultaneous interest in Vlak and Hokke highlights a broader recruitment dilemma for ADO. The club must decide whether to retain its core players or capitalize on market interest.
