After the World Cup quarter‑final, Courtois cleared of serious injury

🇧🇪 By 4All Football Editorial ·

After the World Cup quarter‑final against Spain, 34‑year‑old goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was taken off in the second half but medical checks confirmed he did not sustain a serious injury. He will therefore be able to rejoin Real Madrid’s squad after his scheduled holiday.

National team manager Rudi Garcia made the substitution midway through the second period, replacing Courtois with the backup keeper. The change came as the match progressed into a tight contest.

Following his recovery, Courtois is set to return to his club duties with Real Madrid once his vacation concludes. His availability reassures the Spanish giants ahead of the upcoming season.

Medical staff examined him on the field and later at the team base, finding no severe damage. Thus the Belgian side can count on their first‑choice goalkeeper for future fixtures.

Courtois remains in contention for upcoming international assignments and will be available for selection once he resumes training with Real Madrid.
