Agent blasts Juventus over Di Gregorio saga, cites spending spree
Juventus’ interest in selling goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio sparked a fiery Instagram response from his agent, Carlo Alberto Belloni, who accused the Old Lady of mismanagement, highlighted the keeper’s three‑year contract and defended the 26‑year‑old’s reputation despite no clubs formally stepping forward.
Belloni posted a detailed Instagram statement, quoting: “20 new players in two seasons. 3 coaches in 2 seasons. 3 managements in 2 seasons. These are the numbers that make the real difference. Di Gregorio finished fourth in the Sofascore standings ahead of Milinkovic‑Savic and Sommer. He won the championship and finished second.” The quote was intended to underline Di Gregorio’s performance amid Juventus’ turnover.
He highlighted that Juventus’ management spent €130 million on three unpresentable strikers, suggesting that such spending eclipses the club’s deeper issues. Belloni argued that the financial outlay was used to deflect criticism from the goalkeeper.
Belloni claimed the club blamed the season’s failure entirely on the goalkeeper, a player bought by the previous management. He noted that the keeper, represented by sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, is regarded as the best goalkeeper in Serie A at 26 years old.
The agent said many clubs are monitoring Di Gregorio’s situation and that the keeper has a three‑year contract with Juventus. He added that Di Gregorio will retreat before the transfer window and evaluate any potential opportunities.
According to Belloni, Di Gregorio is on the shortlist of several European clubs, but his camp is in no rush. He demanded respect for players who have always been there, even when it would have been easier to sit on the bench and chat.
