Arnaut Danjuma says Heung‑min Son may be his best teammate

Arnaut Danjuma praised South Korean forward Heung‑min Son, calling him possibly the best player he has ever played with. The remarks came at Het Oranje Café while discussing South Korea’s performance at the 2026 World Cup, and Danjuma noted they shared ten matches together at Tottenham Hotspur.

Danjuma admitted he no longer follows Son since the striker moved to America, but he still believes Son deserves recognition. He said, "Ik volg hem niet meer sinds hij in Amerika speelt, maar als iemand zijn props moet krijgen, is hij het wel."

Danjuma highlighted Son’s ability to play with both feet, describing him as “venijn, linksbenig, rechtsbenig”. He compared this rare two‑footedness to Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder and French winger Ousmane Dembélé, noting that they also sometimes lack a clear preferred foot.

Danjuma also recalled sharing the Tottenham pitch with Harry Kane, acknowledging that Kane’s statistics are slightly superior. He added, "Kane's cijfers zijn iets beter, maar wat Son qua kwaliteit heeft..."

Danjuma emphasized Son’s strength, speed and versatility, claiming “Hij kan alles. Hij is sterk, snel, dat zie je echt bij niemand.” He called the quality “ongekend” and suggested no other player matches it.

The interview formed part of the latest Studio Oranje episode, which also covered the Dutch national team, Curaçao and World Cup debutant Deveron Fonville. The segment aired shortly after the discussion at Het Oranje Café.
