Arsenal Target Igor Thiago Valued at £77m for 2026/27
Arsenal are weighing a £77 million bid for Brazilian striker Igor Thiago, who currently stars for Brentford in the Premier League. He has become a priority target ahead of the 2026/27 season. After scoring 17 league goals and more than 20 in all competitions last season, his profile has drawn interest.
Thiago's rise has been one of the most compelling Premier League stories of the past year. His involvement with Brazil at the World Cup added prestige, even though his debut tournament did not produce a standout performance.
Mikel Arteta has monitored Thiago since before his move to England and believes the striker would fit Arsenal's attacking structure. Andrea Berta, Arsenal's sporting director, is seeking a forward already accustomed to English football, making Thiago a valuable option.
Manchester United have also expressed interest, which could complicate negotiations. Chelsea, Atlético Madrid and Juventus are linked to the Brazilian, widening the market around him.
Brentford are believed to value Thiago at around £77 million (€90 million) and have little incentive to lower the price quickly. Arsenal must decide whether the fee represents value, given his proven goal return and potential for further development.
If Arteta deems him the right fit, Arsenal may need to act swiftly before Manchester United intensifies its pursuit. A successful signing would give Bukayo Saka, Martin Ødegaard and Gabriel Martinelli a proper reference point in attack.
