Barcelona's pursuit of Club Brugge prodigy stalls over price

Barcelona remain interested in signing highly rated Club Brugge prospect Jesse Bisiwu despite negotiations stalling over the Belgian club’s firm asking price. The Catalan side have tracked the teenage forward’s development and still view him as one of Belgium’s most promising attacking talents.

Barcelona’s scouting department praised Bisiwu’s technical ability, pace and one‑on‑one attacking qualities. The club view the teenager as a long‑term target with significant potential for future growth.

Sporting director Deco and head of scouting Joao Amaral have been personally involved in the pursuit. They have held discussions with the player’s representatives and Club Brugge to clarify his contractual situation.

Club Brugge has remained firm on its valuation, rejecting Barcelona’s initial formal offer. The Belgian side’s steadfast price demand has brought negotiations to a temporary standstill.

Despite the impasse, Barcelona have not abandoned the chase. The sporting department stays alert to any shift in Brugge’s position and is ready to revisit talks if conditions improve.

If a deal is reached, Barcelona plan for Bisiwu to continue his development with Barça Atlètic before a possible promotion to the first team. The pathway mirrors the club’s strategy of nurturing elite young talent.

Sources close to the player suggest Bisiwu would welcome a move to Barcelona, seeing the Catalan club as an ideal step in his career. He reportedly views the opportunity as a significant progression.

For now Barcelona are content to wait, hoping the transfer conditions evolve favourably as the summer window progresses.
