Barcelona urged to keep versatile forward Ferran Torres

Barcelona faces pressure to retain versatile forward Ferran Torres as Paris Saint-Germain show interest. Torres, 26, is under contract with Barcelona until 2027. His ability to play across the front line, start or impact from the bench, and press makes him valuable in Hansi Flick's system. Coach Hansi Flick requires forwards who can adapt and accept rotational roles. Torres recorded 21 goals and three assists in 49 appearances across all competitions last season. Torres, a former Manchester City player, has improved his productivity each season. PSG's interest is understandable given his experience and tactical flexibility. Torres dismissed the speculation, saying he does not know or care about the rumors. Coach Luis Enrique, familiar with Torres from the Spanish national team, is aware of his potential contribution to PSG. Barcelona have begun renewal talks to extend Torres's contract. A sale for around €60 million would compel Barcelona to listen, while offers near €30‑40 million should be rejected. Replacing Torres would require a player capable of understanding the league, rotating, covering multiple forward positions, and pressing, which is not cheap. The prudent course is to renew Torres and keep him in the attacking rotation unless an exceptional offer emerges.
